Completed Sunday, January 10, 2010, in Grand Hotel Palace, ceremony multiple twinning between Rotary Clubs from five Balkan countries.

Initiated by the Rotary Club of Thessaloniki Anatolia with the participation of Rotary Club of TIRANA from Albania, BLAGOEVGRAD CENTRUM from Bulgaria, CRAIOVA from Romania, NIS - CONSTANTINE THE GREAT from Serbia and the Rotary Club THESSALONIKI WEST, the above Rotary Club agreed to join forces to promote the objectives of Rotary International and the formation of a new era of solidarity and cooperation in the Balkans.

The need to overcome the Balkan peoples the difficulties of the past and to give priority to those that bring them closer in their speeches highlighted the professor of the Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies University of Macedonia, Harry Papapanagos, Dr. Antonios Satrazanis, director of the Center for History of Thessaloniki and Dr. Hans Giesecke, President of the American College of Thessaloniki, Anatolia.

The event was hailed by the Prefect of Thessaloniki Panagiotis Psomiadis, the professor of Aristotle, PDG of 147 and 2480 District and developer of the Zone of Rotary International, and George Vassilikiotis, PDG of the 2481 District Kyriakos Katsikis.

Present, including in this solemn ceremony of U.S. Consul General in Thessaloniki, PhD. Catherine Kay, the vice-prefect of Education and member of the Rotary Club of Thessaloniki Anatolia Mimis Fotopoulos, Deputy Chairman of the County Council of Thessaloniki, gynecologist, Rotarian John Charalambides, the Rotaract Club of Thessaloniki Anatolia, rotarians from other Rotary clubs, economic and other factors of our city.

The twin group are active through most of the committees established in the fields:
1. Education & Youth
2. Culture
3. Chambers - Annual awards - twinning,
4. European & Rotary programs - social contribution
5. Coordination - organization - translation.

The next action of the Rotary Club of Thessaloniki Anatolia scheduled for January 18, 2010 at 21:00 for the celebration of the new year in Mediterranean Palace Hotel.
